GASGAS & HUSQVARNA

European Champion and Vice-Champion in Hard Enduro

This weekend took place the last stage of the European Hard Enduro Championship, in Zlatibor, Serbia, the famous Xross Challenge, a race that will become a Championship stage from 2022. World!! Romania was represented by two athletes: Jozsa Norbert Levente - GASGAS rider, from Cluj Bike Master Club, and Varga Zsolt Jr. - HUSQVARNA rider, from NordicaMoto.ro. Guaranted success for the two ROMANIANS! Norbert is the new European hard enduro champion, and Varga, vice-champion.

Leading by 47 points from the first day to the end

In the classifications, our rider, supported by ATH Moto, led the BMU European Extreme Enduro Championship by 47 points. The Xross Hard Enduro race started on Friday and gathered around 90 riders from different European countries. The Romanian, Jozsa Norbert, was the fastest rider from the first day until the end. Besides Norbi, Varga Zsolt was also registered in the race, the NordicaMoto.ro pilot, who was on the 3rd place in the general classification, only 16 points behind Norbi!

The seventh edition of the Xross Challenge brought some major changes. What was a tough enduro race became a tough enduro rally that took place on three mountains in Serbia. Mount Zlatibor, the host of the event, offered riders a tough route and a fantastic landscape. Jozsa Norbert and GasGas were at the Xross Challenge for the first time, practically winning the race in the PRO class from the beginning, finishing in one hour and 59 minutes. If Norbi's start was promising, on day two and three he maintained his leading position, thus becoming European Champion.

We had a beautiful race. The drivers in the area are very fast, so I was in the grip all the time, especially on the speed sections! I want to thank the sponsors for their support and ATH Moto and GASGAS Romania for the motorcycle that behaved impeccably all season! "

And the vice-champion Varga Zsolt had a very good course, he maintained his position on the podium, until the end. Zsolt finished in 3rd place, thus becoming European Vice-Champion.

"I finished in 3rd place overall. The route was not so technical, it was faster, completely different from what we have in Romania. On the last day we suffered a small injury, but I was able to maintain my 3rd position in general. The organization was excellent, next year a stage of the world championship will be organized here. We will definitely return! "
